![]() ![]() The paint is set off with the matching Enve stem and the Chris King Matte Bourbon headset (hubs to match once built.) we tried to capture the essence of both hank and the Roan and Appaloosa horse breads in the paint scheme by layering color and sanding away top coats with aggressive sandpaper leaving course hair-like markings. Hank is a dusty mix of gray and light brown with spots of white all over. John, with his love for both his dog and horses, wanted a paint job that would resemble a bit of both. ![]() From what i understand hank is a little ripper, cattle dog mix. He also wanted something he could ride on trails where he could bring his best dude, Hank the Dog. John wanted a gravel bike that could handle anything that came his way. John has been riding his Speedvagen Road bike all around the Texas as he’s been held up, like most of us during this time, close to family. Thank you to all who came from far and near to celebrate with us! Thank you Tara for the amazing food, thanks to Founders for slinging us beers, thank you to Wild common wind for the case of tasty bubbles, thank you to Catfish John for the fireworks, thank you to Jesse for the artwork and thank you to Jess and Steve for playing music with me up on the flatbed. So many people came together to make the day and evening increadably special and there was an consistant feeling of warmth and kinship. It was truly a party to remember and an epic celebration of community. That night we hosted a party with music, food, drinks, Fireworks and an amazing land sculpture by a talented local artist named Jessie Lee Wilson. Beers were sunk, swims were had, and general stoke was abundant. The workshop was open to everyone and we had a few bikes on display. The Gravy Dayz Gravel ride was awesome! We had a great turn out and people from far and wide came to link up with other riders for a day of views, beautiful gravel roads and hangs. We still have a space down in Brooklyn and paint all of our bikes in the city. B-Cycles have locks on the bikes.The new workshop is located in the heart of the Catskill mountains in upstate NY about 3hrs from NYC. If you are bringing your own bike, please have lights and a lock. We return to Embassy Suites as, I'm sure, better people. The trip home incorporates the Red Bridge that Andrea has claimed as her own. ![]() Our final stop is at El Bait Shop for a safety inspection and hydration stop. We will continue on to Court Avenue Brewing Company for a safety stop. We continue on to Exile Brewery for another safety stop and regroup. We continue on the trail to Confluence Brewery for a mandatory safety and hydration stop.įrom there, we continue through Gray's Lake across the trail bridge over the lake. We will travel along the Riverwalk Trails past Principal Park. B-Cycles are available through the conference. The ride will begin at the Embassy Suites west courtyard. This will be a 6 mile ride with stops at three breweries and one bar with a bunch of craft brews on tap. The Mid America Trails and Greenways Conference will hold the Brewery Bike Tour. * Beverage service is available at the Golf Club](1524410) at the start of ride.ħ PM on Tuesday, October 27. * A shorter **()** is available and overlaps Route A. * This ride is on gravel, so bring an appropriate bicycle. * Finish your with a beer](1524409) at () - you can get there by trail if you want a longer ride * Return through High Amana along paved road * Travel to West Amana through native timber * Route starts on pavement, but turns to gravel at 126th Street West Amana features Iowa’s Largest Walnut Rocking Chair, Basket and Broom Shop, Opa’s Tractor Museum, Michele Maring Miller Studio and Gallery, and the landscape that inspired Grant Wood to paint his famous Young Corn. This route is more challenging and approximately a 17 mile round trip. Route A begins in Middle Amana at the entrance to the (), riders will travel to West Amana. It has become a top tourism attraction in Iowa with over 1 million visitors per year. In 1932, the Amana Society chose to abandoned the communal ways. In latter days, the villages were communal with families living, working, and eating together. The Amana Colonies are a set of seven historic villages spaced approximately 7 miles apart. While on the gravel routes, the riders will experience historical points of interest in Middle Amana, Amana](1524407), and Amana](1524408). The routes each begin in Middle Amana, separating into the longer Route A going to West Amana and the shorter () going to High Amana. The first () Gravel Bike Routes are ready for use.
